The group was originally formed in 1952 by Joe Baris, as the singing representatives of the U.S. Army in Europe, at the personal request of the late General Kenneth F. Cramer of Connecticut. The chorus toured Europe presenting concerts to both military and civilian personnel and performed in London, Paris, Rome Berlin and other cities throughout Europe. They also appeared with Danny Kaye and Ed Fisher when both these stars toured Europe.
Once discharged from the service these boys again came together under the suggestion of their original director Joe Baris. Baris, a former high school teacher decided to use 16 of the 36 original men and went into performing great performances for civilian show business, with spectacular arrangements and outstanding choreography.
